Google Translate said: "Hello !! I came here the first time. Turkey Day arrived. I would like to gift a gift to everyone. This gift is real. Good luck!"
Just saying so most of you won't have to translate it.

Thanks by the way for the awesome chance!

did he mean Thanksgiving Day instead of Turkey Day?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

maybe?

the words "火鸡节" he used is literally "Turkey Day", that is another weird part. cause there is no such words in chinese language. and "Thanksgiving Day" in chinese language is actually "感恩节".

Maybe he meant Republic Day in Turkey which is celebrated in October 29th.

When I ask Google to translate, I get this:

Hello !! I am new here. I was overseas Chinese. Thanksgiving Day is coming. I want to gift a gift to everyone. This gift is real. Good luck!

So, yeah, I guess he meant Thanksgiving. :P

The account was made 30 minutes before they came on here, has zero play time on it... those poor GTA games, they deserve to be played :/

Indeed, while translating I was expecting some more difficulties with understanding it. I'm curious to whether or not he just put it there for the troll.

你可以读中文,不过你写英文。为什么我不能写中文?我看的懂中文。
你说的对,我不住在中国,我还是一个中国人。这是一个好机会用我的中文。如果我有时间我想去中国学好我的中文。这个地方没有说过我不可以用中文。还有一件事我想告诉你,我的英文和中文不好 :(。

然後歡迎你也加入Steamgifts(看到你送的禮物我都對自己送的感到好心虛...

It is very kind of you to reply with translated chinese words.
As a chinese myself i have to say the description of this giveaway is very wired, grammer is wrong, not like a chinese guy would type, more like someone write it in some language and use some software translate it into chinese. And not only grammer, in the end of a sentence, chinese language use "。" not dot ".", so i think the creater of this giveaway is not a chinese guy but fakeing as a chinese guy, i dont know why would he do that.

Thank you very much for responding to comment. I used Google translate, so I have no idea whether or not my comment even makes any sense, but I hope the meaning came across. I should have included my message in English, as well, but I was in too much of a hurry to think of that.

If what you say is true, that this person is using Chinese writing without actually understanding it, then that is indeed a very odd thing to do. I appreciate your feedback, however, as we would never have known this without being told. Thank you for your help. )

It is my pleasure to do some feedback. and your google translated chinese comment is actually making sense, i get all the meaning without english. i dont mind if you write comments only in chinese or english. And thanks for your reply, it is a happy thing to know that the Support got this feedback.

"I can write Chinese words, and I can read chinese books?"

I'm not gonna call this giveaway fake. But your Chinese sure as hell sounds really fake. I speak this as a native Chinese speaker/racially Chinese person.

Maybe he is of Chinese descent/origin, but didn't grow up in China (left at an early age). Now he wants to "get back to his roots" and is learning Chinese. So he is practicing it here. That would explain his non-native Chinese, his use of Chinese here, and his insistence that he is Chinese. Just a guess.

It's an /extremely/ far stretch, but I'll give it to you it's not 100% impossible.

Other conversations in his giveaways indicate that this is indeed the case.

I can tell you, it's not that far off. My parents, grandparents, and so forth were all born in China, as was I, but I came to America when I was 4. Because of that, I never really put any effort into learning how to read or write Chinese so I can't understand a lick of it. I can carry a simple conversation in Chinese though. :/

i'm not saying those cases don't happen. What I'm weirded out by is, why here of all places? Surely there are better places to practice Chinese than a mainly-english speaking GIVEAWAY website

Give away games, learn Chinese while doing so. Win Win :). Chinese Descendant Must Learn Chinese. Ok Thanks Bye

Your english is atrocious as well. well, enjoy your time here pretending to be a chinese/english speaker then. I hope it gets your rocks off.

Atrocious isn't really the word for it, now is it?

I say, let the man practice while giving away great games. Nothing wrong with that in my book.

There is one thing wrong:
1) Create giveaway with chinese letters in description.
2) Learn chinese. Wait...how did this help with my chinese again?
