This one is kinda tough.
I can see some 'directions' that may be related to them, in 'gender', 'number' or 'grade'... But I'm really stuck.

If I'm allowed to ask a question, can this one theoretically be solved without the extra hints, or would you consider them necessary to figure it out?
yes people have solved it before I put hints up
For sure, if you are experienced enough in solving these riddles, you may find it quite easy actually.
Also it's normally even more easier, if English is your native language.
