Lumo is an isometric platformer about a kid who gets trapped in a video game and has to beat it to get out. There isn't much of a story to speak of, and it can get frustratingly challenging at times, but it's wonderfully creative. Something inside me is just deeply satisfied by tiny worlds in which each little room is its own game or puzzle. Hopefully whoever wins it will feel the same way!
Thank yous are always welcome, but if you'd like to answer a question instead: are there any aspects of "old school," retro video games that you miss or get nostalgic for?

You're welcome! Lumo was actually my first exposure to an isometric game, although it kind of feels like I've always wanted to play one without realizing it. I don't know why, but some part of my brain just loves moving through the world with a fixed camera angle like that.
Mr. Robot is another modern isometric game that I've heard is quite good. :)

This reminds me of games on the ZX Spectrum like Alien 8 and Head Over Heels. I'm old. So very old...
Thanks for the chance ^^

Thanks stars, there is only one game I'm missing and that's Donkey Kong. The version I've spend my pocket money on in the old arcades. Would love to play that again.

Thank you for the chance at this wishlisted game :)
One thing I thought was kool back in the day was finding epic items like Erdrick's Armor on Dragon Warrior. It was hard to find but back then it felt so rewarding cause you found it on your own as there wasn't any internet or online guides to help.

What I miss most about retro games was that multiplayer meant actually sitting down with friends and playing together. :P
Love your username, by the way. It reminds me a bit of this...

I miss couch co-op, too! I'm eyeing the new Smash Bros., but it just won't be the same without a group of rowdy kids to have tournament sleepovers with.
The Tiffany Aching Adventures were a lovely series, although my heart will always belong to Small Gods.

Yeah, couch co-op is sadly one of those things that seems to be fading away. Even when my nephew plays games with his friends after school on his Xbox, they're all at home talking over headsets rather than talking face-to-face.
The only books of Pratchett's that I've read have been the Tiffany Aching series and Good Omens. Is Small Gods a book that stands well on its own without having read previous Discworld novels? I may check it out. :)

My little sister still games with her high school friends in the basement, but I wonder if that'll continue getting rarer.
Small Gods can absolutely be read as a standalone. Unlike the other Discworld novels, it doesn't really have cameos from other novels or any of the usual recurring characters.
