Thank you for giving away a game that you have given in Humble Bundle?

Hi, if this is for the base game being given away on Humble Bundle, I recommend deleting the giveaway and giving away the key using http://keygiveaway.com/ to create a link that only people who don’t already have the game can access, then posting the link to the orphan key drop thread, created for this purpose;
https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/MYeOi/orphan-keys-drop-thread
If this is for the $50 collectors edition, no further action needs to be taken, but if it’s the basic edition being given away for free on Humble Bundle, you either need to supply the winner with the $50 collectors edition or you risk suspension for giving away the wrong game. The basic edition of CoH2 was removed as an option to be given away because support doesn’t want the site flooded with giveaways for a free game. Deleting the giveaway before support gets involved should avoid getting a suspension.

It's really kind of you (and everyone else) to do this, but I wonder if this ever worked in stopping these GAs and if you ever got any reply from the creators.
I mean, I wonder if it's right that good souls has to waste their time with people that don't even bother, because if they bothered, they would know all of that by now.

Thanks, and I don’t know, myself. I can tell you that sometimes I see the GA complete and the user suspended for a couple of days but others the GA gets deleted before it ends and the GA creator’s a little wiser. I usually don’t see a reply from the GA creator, since the comments disappear when the GA is deleted.
I hope it saves someone from feeling bad about a suspension when they just misunderstood the site. I’ve got one blacklisting that seems to have come from my commenting like this, but if it helps others understand the site that’s okay - not to mention that with mutual blacklists, that probably hurts their chances more than mine.

lol yeah.
And ya, I forgot about the deletion which make it disappear, I never find out how things ends because of that so I was curious. Thanks for the information :)

The winner has marked it recieved so looks like this was legit.

It often happens that the winner don't know the rules either, or accepts the different article without problems. We'll probably never know the truth, but I'm pretty sure this was just the HB free game.

If the system detects the difference, either the winner is going to get suspended for an unredeemed win (this may take some time) or the giver will get it for a misleading giveaway (which again may need to go through support and take time). If it doesn’t detect it, which it might not since that specific edition was removed from Steam, it might slip through the cracks.
