Yes, that's a 7 books story he has written in over 20 years (the first one was published in 82, last one in 2004). Plus one book published in 2012 which can be placed in between the third and the fourth book (I haven't read it yet).
Lots of people consider it as he's masterpiece. I don't know if it is but it's definately a story of epic proportions (as much the number of pages as the epicness of the story itself). I still prefer 'It' and 'The Stand' though.

I was a bit sceptical after reading two thirds of the first book. It's only gotten better since then though :)
I only recently started reading fantasy in earnest, but I've found a few books I really enjoyed. I recommend giving The Kingkiller Chronicles a try if you haven't read it already. Mistborn is also a decent series, though I wasn't anywhere near as enthralled by that one. I also recommend reading Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality. Whether you like Harry Potter or not doesn't matter, as long as you have a decent understanding of the universe :)

Thanks for the recomendations!! Ive already read The Name of the Wind but i will wait for the third book to read them all, also i will have a look on that Mistborn, from the same author as the last books of WoT, i hope it is translated to spanish, the HP book its not :(
I will recommend you some series too:
