Maybe he means that you could make lot of entries to come and so harder to win... so the GiveAway would worth lesser to enter...
Guessing this one. Promoting a website, game, etc. it makes lots of sense to do public giveaways. If you want incentive for people to join your steam group, do group only giveaways as well (usually making public ones advertising you do!).
Done already a Steam-Group Giveaway - and this is a really cool option on SteamGifts. But i think, it´s a good idea also to make a public Giveaway here.
Last time we made already a Rafflecopter Giveaway, now a Giveaway on SteamGifts (... and many on FB :D)

This GA was created to bring more peoples on Epic Bundle not only for those who already know about him.
