Much appreciated!

I usually avoid Visual Novels, especially ones with loli on the cover ... but this one actually looks very interesting (and arguably more importantly, it's not a rape.game ... er, I mean, "dating sim"). Added to my wishlist. Thank you for bringing this one to my attention.

Uh, yikes? Visual novels aren't all about sex, you just need to know where to look. I recommend VNDB (the database only, not the forums - they're chock-full of incels).

I've tried several visual novels in the past, and even enjoyed one or two of them. That by itself isn't the problem. I'd say that 85% of the ones I've tried before where there was a loli on the cover, part of the story included "dating" that loli. Sure, it's not all of them... but it's enough to make me wary. Eventually I just gave up on them altogether to avoid those kind. I'll check out that VNDB thing. Thanks.

You're welcome. Being wary is okay, but visual novels are already a very misunderstood niche. I haven't read many of the cream of the crop, recommended-to-death titles, but I feel like I wouldn't be doing my part if I haven't tried to make someone try them out for themselves. I can't speak to their quality, but personally, I see titles like Fata Morgana no Yakata and Higurashi no Naku koro ni or Umineko no Naku koro ni being recommended all over the place. All of those, I believe, are gritty horror/mystery titles, though, so it depends on what you're looking for. My recommendation would be the Science;Adventure series, although it doesn't seem to be as good of a fit with players that aren't already otaku.

That's because VN are relatively easy to make - so a lot of trash devs try to get easy money by applying to lowest type of gamers out there... Although, since Unity is available for everyone nowadays - a lot of "hentai/loli shooters" are sold now xD
Maybe one day people would say something like " it's not a rape.game ... er, I mean, first person shooter"

Well, yeah... that's why it's become the players' job to let other people know that it's not all about 3D guys named Karl getting their rocks off. I can't say I'm a fan of the world being trashed by stuff like that, but then again, I own a bunch of it myself, so I don't get to talk.
Plus, to play devil's advocate, at least those people put something out there? That's supposedly a problem with many people who want to create, they're too afraid or insecure to put their stuff out.
So just... don't buy them...
I've only ever seen maybe one person say it straight, but the fact that we're able to get so many games pretty much instantly is a disease, in a way; the committed people sink immense amounts of time into trying to beat them all and the ones who don't care just skew the stats to a ridiculous degree. It's easy to go around saying "Did you know [insert %] of Steam games has never been played?!", but few people seem to stop and think about all the hoarders, idlers and frauds. I was once swindled for maybe 10 or so games, just so the "trader" could add them to their account and likely never touch them. It's a crazy world out here.

Asset flips are asset flips imho. I just loved, when steam was doing their "fake games" purging and people were whining that their games count suddenly dropped by 100 xD
I think they stopped since they introduced "steam is learning about this game" though. So people don't care either and made them anyway... And I just hide them on steamgifts, because you can see at first sight that it's the same game, just with different loli/hentai shaped voxels as mc.
On one hand - steam is a great place to find some rare gems, on the other hand it's harder to find them because of all that clatter.

Ha, yeah, couldn't tell when that happened exactly, but I do own a handful of removed and/or achievement spam games that I wish I could remove without having their data left on my profile afterwards anyway.
Hey, good on ya. If it weren't digital, nobody would be hoarding these. The art stereotype is the easiest to lean into for a comparison - people who can afford to get expensive paintings will likely do so, for lack of ideas on how to spend their money, but just because you can get something, doesn't mean you have to. Imagine struggling to wade through your house because of all the paintings just lying around...

Good example xD Although I imagine that If I had enough money to buy all of the paintings - my house would be big enough to have them all anyway.
Also paintings made by digital homicide would lie next to fireplace as fuel (not to mention that in that case it would be weird, since it would be other people paying me to keep their paintings).
Quite luckilly you can sort your library - and I have more than 100 games in trash cattegory. I wasn't thinking about it back then, but getting games for free just to farm and sell trading cards was something that clatters library as hell xD

Also a fair point.
The lack of capitalization initially made me think "digital homicide" was some funky new experimentative method to paint (lol). I've seen a handful of names responsible for some of the more egregious trash being thrown around, but I don't suppose I've heard of them yet. Gonna have to read up on them later.
Yup. Thankfully, if you sort something into a category, you technically won't have to see it ever again...

Be ready for a lot of cringe xD Especially part where they tried to sure 100 users and youtuber for bad reviews xD

The price tag on this one is Insane for being a Visual Novel.
Comment has been collapsed.
It's estimated to be anywhere around 30-40 hours, according to VNDB, so... not really. It's normal for VNs localized by established companies to run this kind of price; if you want a truly insane price tag, here's one. (localized by the same company, funnily enough, but I still don't know where that price came from).

Lol Degica seriously, cant they look at the sales and how low it is. Putting a insane price tag on VN is absurd. I wont complain if it was some AAA FPS/TPS/Racing but for VN seriously!

This is where you lose me. While I can't rightfully say what sales of localized VNs specifically cover, I would hope that prices like these are what helps translators put food on their tables. To talk like VNs aren't as valid of a game genre is absurd.

I mean look, VN = Art + Script - Translation yeah thats bad in most of the games I have played.
Fps Tps Racing games takes way too much time and debugging to build. The time and effort is the price tag a game should have. VN on the other hand not so much. Story can be good but putting an insane price tag blocks gamers from buying that game and experiencing it so that is the fault of the publisher.

Dude, I already said it's not insane. We're talking about a title that was translated from Japanese and takes at least about 30 hours to play through fully. Just because you think it doesn't look like much, doesn't mean coding, programming or whatever else needed to be done to touch up the English build is invalid. This isn't some random shovelware designed to boost your achievement count and give you some cheap trading cards to sell off.
Nobody's stopping you from waiting for a sale.

Not gonna argue, I know how much time it takes to write script and get the art and debugging. My point is its pricy compared to what it provides. If the whole 30 hours has voice lines in it I would say it was worth the price. But straight up its not.
Comment has been collapsed.
So now voice acting is the only thing that matters? I don't even get what you're trying to argue at this point.

Nothing!

Either way, you don't seem to have had a history of interest in localized VNs. Otherwise, you'd have come to expect them to be priced as such.
