The Lion King.

You wot m8. Scar wasn't really oppressive. He did normal lion things that lions do when they take over a pride.

Not Scar, Musafa. Musafa banished the hyenas for nothing more than taking their place in the circle of life; Scar stood up for them. At least, from what I remember.

Scar wasn't really standing up for them, he was using them as lackeys. Musafa banished them because they were thieves or something.

I'm going to go with My Little Pony. Mare in the Moon. Discord turned into a statue. King Sombra banished to the realm of shadow. Ain't nobody happy that ever crossed "Princess" Celestia.
I mean, she even raises and lowers the sun. How much of a totalitarian can you be?
"On account of today sucking, there will be no sun. Toil in darkness, peasants."
Also, her sister invades and monitors your dreams. That's some Grade-A wiretapping.

1984 is pretty good, especially since it seems to apply more and more to real life for every year that passes.
Other than that, nothing really comes to mind.
