And if you want to play the game I HIGHLY recommend trying it on Gamepass first because after playing it there's a good chance you won't care to own it. You can easily find 1-3 month Gamepass trials for $1, or even better, free monthly Gamepass from Microsoft Rewards which is super easy to get by doing daily Bing searches that take less than 5 min.
This game is my pick for the biggest disappointment of 2021. It has none of the charm or soul of L4D2. If you love L4D2 (like me) you probably won't love this game. If you don't love L4D2 then you might like this more. That seems to be how it goes. I don't want to get into a whole review about why this game is very underwhelming but it's got bug issues, balance issues, annoying characters, long wait times, super slow patch releases that always breaks something else, and feels janky and generic.

had this on my wishlist after reading that it was from the left 4 dead devs, hoping it would be fun to play with friends i've played l4d with. i always thought the name was stupid, but had fun with l4d and more of that sounds good. reading your description and seeing a bunch of reviews saying the same thing, i'm taking it off my wishlist instead of entering this.
curious though, how did you end up with this copy to give away? i wouldn't buy a $50 game i didn't think was good just to give away and i don't see a 4-game pack on the steam store . . .

I won the key on a stream awhile ago. I've been debating whether or not to activate the key for myself, hoping the game would become good eventually but I'm tired of waiting for it to be fixed.
I'd actually feel bad for stopping someone from trying a game they were very interested in. Who knows you might have liked or even loved the game. That's why I strongly suggested trying it on Gamepass. You could try the game, see if you like it, and if you do you could come back and enter the giveaway which doesn't end for 2 weeks. Just a thought :)

i definitely would have noticed the bad reviews and reconsidered whether i actually wanted this game before i would have potentially paid for it. everything is pointing toward the reasons i wanted to check this out not being accurate.

And if the winner should be some goof who somehow manages to not play the game, I vote for keelhauling, or some other very old and extremely brutal method of execution. Keelhauling is my first choice, followed by them being drawn and quartered.

Wow, thanks I was interested in this, but then the terrible reviews started showing up.
I have over 400 hours in L4D & L4D2 combined was thinking of what to play in the future.
If it is terrible it might be a one and done under 10 hours, but I heard they improved it so it is at least as good as beta Left 4 Dead the original. (not as good as the actual Left 4 Dead) Probably wont get it but do have some interest.

I've been wary of this long before it came out. It seemed like every new idea they had made it worse. But I also have a lot of friends who are willing to buy it to play through it co-op. 1 guy already has it and i hope that 2 of us having it would be enough peer pressure for at least one other guy to pick it up. I am interested in playing it, not sure for how long though.

It's definitely better with friends. You kinda need friends because the playerbase has dropped pretty low. Has about the same number as Battlefield 2042 lol. The replayability is not great though with all the annoying problems it still has.
