It's a very cool action platformer / side-scroller / twin-stick shooter (I'm not entirely sure what exactly this genre of games should be called ^_^' ). Has nice weapons, varied enemies and a very interesting shield mechanic (it can even be used to bounce off spikes).
Quite short, but that just means it doesn't get repetitive.
