I have read the guidelines:
You cannot ask users to perform any special action in order for their entry to be considered valid, such as liking a Facebook page, or following a Twitter account.
All entries are valid, you don't have to click the ref-link, only if you want to.
Therefore the referal links are valid xD
if you click the link you simply help me with no effort on your side

But with that said, I really don't mind personaly. And I didn't understand it as a requirement for your giveaway either. Was just a heads up in case you could get into trouble :)
I do think thats stupid though how you can't post referral links on your own giveaways, Fair enough if you was asking for them to do something but if its just there for people to click on if they want to I don't see what the harm is.
I agree. For giveaways at least. I can understand they don't want a flood of ref link on the forums, but for giveaways I don't see any harm either as long as it's not a requirement to get the game.

I read that one too. I was refering to this one though:
Referral links are not allowed in the community, and if you choose to post a link, please be sure all referral codes have been removed (http://www.example.com?ref=12345 to http://www.example.com).
