Sad to break this to you, but it's called wisdom because you have to age a bit to get them, not because they make you smarter.

Research has shown the the correlation between wisdom and GPA is very low. In fact, the farther you are from your school years, the higher your wisdom tends to be. (Up to a point, when both wisdom and teeth tend to fall.)
