Bad Rats is famous not just on this site but on Steam overall. It's well known for being terrible and going on sale for very cheap. It's given away as a gag gift.

For me it is my new Fortix. Win one give one (Has been a thing back when i started with steamgifts and probably still is? Haven't seen a Frotix event/thread for a while). Only problem is Fortix is great and Bad Rats pretty awful.

That's because Bad Rats is a bad game and was selling for real cheap not so long ago. It's just a joke. But FYI, the trendy game now seems to be Barbie Dreamhouse Party. :3

Bad rats was given away free, had a bunch of different promotions, was in bundles. And its terrible. I don't understand the fixation with it either.

I think it is because bad rats is so bad that people celebrate it's badness. But the game is not as bad as many other really bad games = IE: ET for Atari, Daikatana, Day One: Gary's Incident etc... Personally, I do not understand the infamy of the game.

As for a gag gift of a game. I recently gave my friend "Probably Archery"... he honestly tried to play the game. Then, I honestly felt bad and I had to apologize to him upon hearing that he put the effort into playing it. It has controls as bad as that of Surgeon Simulator '13 or Tea Time. I know that others have given Day One, Goat Simulator or other crappy simulator games to friends as gag or hate gifts.

But personally, I think the real gem of cheap games that is sorta a cult favorite on steamgifts = Fortix. That is a much better $1 game.

I only know that in EU2 region is 5 EUR, compared to US or EU1 where it 1$/EUR. So it's not that cheap so I don't know what everyone is talking about ...
