Hello Everyone,
So I'm giving away games to raise awareness of a charity I'm starting (don't worry, I'm not asking for/accepting any donations). I run a company that sells an enterprise computer security solution, but now I'd like to give back by making it available for free for home use.
I think the free technology is a perfect fit for gamers. It runs in the background without any UI/popups to pull you out of a game. It won't impact system performance (back when I had more free time, I played a lot of competitive multiplayer games and hated AV products that impacted my games). And frankly as a demographic I think we engage in some, let's say, riskier surfing behaviors that make it especially necessary to have something better than AV.
You can learn more about my security offering, Solidus, and download it at http://GetSolid.us. Feel free to message me here with any questions you might have (Tech-wise, about my credentials, etc).
I'm also planning to do some non-bundled giveaways for users of the technology to increase adoption and further encourage users to spread the word. I'd really love to see this charity make as much of a difference and protect as many people as possible. Let me know if you install the product (honor policy), and I will add you to a whitelist for those future giveaways.
Thanks for reading, and I hope you take advantage of the free security offering.

Only via retro-con. My father actually came up with the name, and he has been a huge contributor to the project so went with his first choice of name. But there was a lot to like about the name, including an unintentional Metal Gear reference :).
Sorry the RNG wasn't on your side for this giveaway, but I'll throw you onto my whitelist for later giveaways.

Enjoy the game :).
And thanks for taking a look and the words of encouragement. Make sure you are taking as many precautions as possible with your surfing/downloading (I'd strongly recommend surfing in a virtual machine if you are familiar with VMs). AV alone isn't enough to protect you (or businesses either for that matter - that's why I think it is so important to offer free incident response services to home users).

Oh I will :D it's from the same guys who made Cave Story and I LOVE! Cave story <3 and yes i understand that personally, that's why it's good we have options, options are always good and there are less tech oriented people out there who need protection from various software when they don't know what they are doing ^^

Yeah Cave Story was a lot of fun :).
Just make sure to remain cautious and not let your guard down even though you are a technical user. Outside of VMs, the products available to a home-user for security purposes are highly lacking. Enterprises have significantly more technologies incorporated into their security stack than home-users (next-gen firewall, inline sandboxing, SSL-inspecting proxies, etc). But even they typically still spend more on their incident response team than they do on those products because of the significant advantages humans bring to the process. And while I'd like to say it is only the non-technical people whose systems needed an IR investigation, in reality even some of the most technical people end up compromised at some point.
