When I take the time (and effort) to write something to someone, I do it sincerely. That is as true for my messages of "thanks" as it is for anything else I write. I find it sad that you ascribe the thoughtlessness of your own, "meaningless spam" to the rest of us. We are not you. Nevertheless, out of respect for your stated desire, I will refrain from displaying any gratitude.
Then you're not the target of the request :) I couldn't agree more with your first statements, which is exactly why this bothers me; because it drowns out those who actually do put thought into it. I agree I should've worded it a bit better at the time though.

Yeah, spam is a subjective notion altogether and everyone is different. I feel like Wren when it comes to thanks on SG.
