Regarding this, well, in FTL you control inside the ship, but in Out There you see the ship from outside. Your goal is to reach a specific planet, but traveling you must perfom certain tasks to get oxygen, gas and repair your ship, which become very hard everytime you continue forward your goal. Give it a try and let me know what you think about it.
