Moscow (and most of the non-Arabic countries that neighbor middle or "near" East lands) - "Shaurma" .
Strictly only Saint Petersburg/Leningrad/Petrograd and Novgorod or Murmansk - "Shaverma".
Israel and Turkey (mostly so Israel) - "Shawarma".
Modern (post-1950's) Arabic - "Doner kebab".
Originated in Aram (nowadays Syria) and Persia (nowadays Iran), while being based off of the Akkadian (nowadays Iraq) word, however - the specific variant/variation of it that uses "pita" form of dough wrap (instead of lavash/lavas) is actually based on Greek "Gyros". TMYK.
