Wow nice! Been meaning to try 8 again since the fisrt time I abandoned the original game (wanting to start over but never doing it) after realizing it's better NOT to level up :-[ ]
it doesn't mess up the game or anything, but IIRC enemies level with you so you need to capture/or whatever the mechanic is to get cards and escape every battle to stay at level 1 for maximuim ultimate power of everything min-max badassery , and really that's the whole point of any rpg
Sweet. FF8 was a big part of my formative years, including lots of extremely dorky role-playing about it on a forum. My username since then was made up from there. Would love to play the remaster. Thanks for the giveaway!
FF8 was my first final fantasy game, I'm sure some people think that was criminal of me, but it was the first FF game I played. I played 7 After that, and probably 1-3 between 7 and 9.

i dont even remember it being better to not level up? i would always get max level asap and never had any issues
