It's not hard to choose cuz i listened only one album from 2022:

I've heard of Lacrimas Profundere but have never actually listened to them. I'll give the new album a try.
Mine is either Let the Night Love You by INVSN or The Long Road North by Cult of Luna.

Really hard to pick just one... In rock/metal overall I'd go with "Revel In Time" by Star One (another progressive masterpiece by Arjen Lucassen and all the amazing musicians he gathered).

Ooh, didn't actually know that there was a new Star One album. I really liked Victims of the Modern Age back in the day, so I'll definitely have to listen to the new one too.

Definitely worth to listen. It's quite different to the previous two, more singers and musicians than the usual gang - actually much closer to Ayreon size - but the Star One vibe with its popculture references is still strong (a concept album about movies with manipulation of time, not necessarily time travel).
