That really does depend, you really need to get the right art style and then you have the initial investment, if you need to hire/freelance an artist, the initial cost to create it can actually be fairly high. But yes, you do it right, very profitable.
It can be hit and miss either way still. Regardless of genre, i have seen many good games flop, yet some very bad looking games sell tons.
