With Raven's cunning proposal capturing your attention, you contemplate the potential benefits of turning the demons' strategies against them.
"Raven may be onto something," you acknowledge, nodding thoughtfully. "A well-placed trap could catch the demons off guard and shift the balance of power in our favor. Let's proceed with caution and set the stage for our ambush."
Eager to implement Raven's plan, your party quickly gets to work, scouting the area for a suitable location to lay the trap. With Aria's magical abilities enhancing your reconnaissance, you identify a strategic chokepoint where the demons are likely to pass.
As night falls and the darkness cloaks the forest in shadow, you and your companions set your trap, laying out pitfalls and concealed obstacles to hinder the demons' advance. With each step, you can feel the tension mounting, knowing that the success of your plan hinges on perfect execution.
Hours pass in tense anticipation until, at last, the sound of approaching footsteps heralds the arrival of the demonic horde. With bated breath, you lie in wait, poised to spring your trap at the perfect moment.
As the demons fall into your carefully laid snare, chaos erupts in the forest. Your party strikes with precision and ferocity, catching the enemy off guard and turning the tide of battle in your favor. Each demon that falls only fuels your determination, driving you forward in the heat of combat.
However, amidst the fray, a towering demon emerges, its imposing figure casting a shadow over the battlefield. With a roar that shakes the very ground beneath your feet, it charges into the fray, leading the counterattack with unmatched fury.
Caught between the relentless onslaught of the demonic horde and the towering fiend, your party fights valiantly, but the odds are stacked against you. Despite your best efforts, the sheer numbers of the enemy prove overwhelming, and one by one, your companions fall in battle.
In a desperate final stand, you face the towering demon head-on, knowing that your chances of survival grow slimmer with each passing moment. With a heavy heart and the weight of impending defeat pressing down upon you, you steel yourself for the inevitable confrontation.
As the battle reaches its climax, you make your final stand against the towering demon, prepared to give everything you have to defend your world from the encroaching darkness. Though the outcome may be uncertain, you refuse to yield, resolved to fight until your last breath is drawn, knowing that your sacrifice will be in vain.

"you make your final stand (...) Though the outcome may be uncertain, you refuse to yield, resolved to fight until your last breath is drawn, knowing that your sacrifice will be in vain."
If "the outcome may be uncertain", then as dire as the situation is, there is still a chance, that you will defeat the demon, so why are you already certain, that "your sacrifice will be in vain"?
Isn't it more like "Though your chances to kill the demon are very slim, you refuse to yield, resolved to fight until your last breath is drawn, hoping that your sacrifice will not be in vain"?

That's a valid point ^^ In the original you win this fight. You leave battered and bruised, eventually collapsing from your injuries, waking in a nearby village. This point progresses to one of the next events in the book. A lot of these chains are heavily modified so I didn't accidentally refer to further events that are in the original.
