I understand your criticism on the blue layer which I added with Gimp 2.0 (the rest is hand-drawn).
The reason I added something is because the drawing looked a bit blank as a profile picture, and as I am not experienced with editing tools either I found those fill patterns. The blue one matches the eye colour and looks like some kind of rain. I liked this one the most.
Your argument that this - let's call it visual noise - clashes on a static model is true.
