Thanks for the giveaway.
As for hating DRM, there's many valid reasons to hate it. Aside from placing serious restrictions on software that I paid for (and, thus, am supposed to own and therefore install as many times as I want on as many systems as I want and even trade/sell if I so desire), in many cases it prevents one's system from properly working and/or even results in damage to it (depending on the DRM used). DRM is simply offensive: the person who spent $60 buying a game is treated by the company as being a thief who cannot be trusted to act responsibly instead of respecting the customer. This is why I generally boycott games with DRM. Companies who don't trust their customers don't deserve any sort of loyalty or respect.

Why? Because if I pay for a product, I want it complete. DRM it's just a rent...

+1 Heck even iTunes allows you to export purchased music tracks as mp3 files without DRM, so why not the same with game companies and their products?

Most DRM harms the customer while not harming pirates at all. There is no reason for it if the game will be cracked in a matter of weeks, days, or even hours. It just gets in the way of the legitimate customers' experience. It's like buying a bike with a lock that you cannot remove while someone can just steal the bike after hitting said lock with a cream cake. It doesn't happen with objects like that, therefore it doesn't make sense.

+1 game companies, publishers and distributors need to compete for their slice of the profits from the formal economy which they can control with high-quality AAA titles, and not try to regulate the informal economy (of pirates) with DRM. it's something that they need to be aware of, that as much as the number of pirates may spike, the number of honest paying consumers will increase by a similar percentage as well.

+1 and then there's the potential spyware thrown in to keep gamers on their toes... >_> PC users should be treated like console players who buy a cd: we get to keep their copy of their game, no strings attached.

Regardless of my personal opinion about DRM, it's pretty funny to read this on a site called steamgifts.
On a sidenote, I am typing this on my xbox 360. :P
