Did you like it overall? I haven't played it yet, waiting some good sale, but it seems to be the weaker game they popped out recently, by watching let's plays. I also feel like HoI 4 will be better. So before I commit into buying it, do you recommend it (steam reviews were too full of hype..)?

Just be aware combat here is basically Risk w/modifiers, as opposed to a truly tactical experience. That said, there's a lot of depth to explore in the other mechanics.
Still sounds good to me! I like the empire building more than the conquest (I usually turtle forever), so even if the combat is a bit lacking, I'm still interested.
Apparently more accessible than their others. I played crusader kings 2 like a dating sim because the rest of the mechanics were like a foreign language.
Ironically, CK2 is the one I keep struggling to delve into. The EU series really does it for me, but CK2 I just get frustrated at how slowly I expand. HOW CAN I MAKE A PAN-EURASIAN IRELAND IF I CAN'T GACK THESE NERDS!
You need aggressive culture (any steppe ones work really nice), wrong religion group, and lots of casus belli (which some cultures/religions can generate a lot of due to having 4 wifes/concubines). Then you can expand all you want ^^
It's hard to do in base game, but if you have old gods (for pagans) or sword of the islam (for muslims) it's no problem at all. If you want to play christian, well, you can always do a bit of dynastic game plus backstabbing and inherit these titles :P

I really enjoy this development team and this game, although still buggy as hell (Paradox titles are notorious for this issue on release) is amazing.

It's overall solid in my opinion, but it's not as GSG as most PDS games. It's more like GalCiv with a little Paradox spice than anything, honestly.
