If you buy only one game this year... well it was probably something like Cyberpunk because OMG hype. But my 2020 GOTY would be Hades, because I've been playing it pretty much non stop the past week. With the price they're charging for it I feel like I've robbed the developer buying just a single copy, so here's a last minute end of 2020 GA to make up for it. The contrast between this and a "full price AAA game" is stark and a little depressing (but also encouraging, since games like this can still get made).

I haven't played it yet -- once they're done with it and the Director's Ultimate Complete Edition with All DLCs and Much Less Bugs™ is out it might become my GOTY for 2021... or 2022, as the case may be.

For me the bugs were few and minor enough that I got used to them, but I know some people had more trouble.

Even if the release had been perfect I'd still wait for the complete edition, really, because I like getting the complete content up front (especially for story-based games). That these days you're also better off waiting a bit until they get rid of the inevitable bugs at launch (which really every game has now, not like CP is the first or even the most egregious historically) just happens to align well with that.

Or you could wait for the discount and then buy more than one copy to make up for that while still paying less than full price, assuage your guilt that way. Developer gets money, everyone gets cheap games (some for free even), win-win in my book.
