I haven't had a lot of traditional Canadian cuisine (i.e. Native or Inuit), but in terms of modern stuff from my city, you've gotta get a Killaloe Sunrise beavertail in Ottawa if you're ever there for Winterlude. (There's a permanent beavertail cart in the Byward Market, too, but somehow they never taste as good as when you have one without first freezing your tail off in the dead of winter, surrounded by pretty ice sculptures.)

I had to do a little research to learn what a "beavertail" is. Would you care to explain to everyone what this Canadian delicacy is?

Sure. Basically a big, flat pastry (i.e. in the shape of a "beavertail"). It's like a thin fried doughnut. They can be savoury or sweet.

I can tell you about many delicious dishes from every region of my country! (I'm sure you'll guess which one it is c;) but, if I have to chose a few, I would say tortilla de patatas (omelet with potatoes and onion), fabada (beans with chorizo and morcilla) and pulpo a feira (boiled octopus with potatoes and paprika).
(omg I love food so much).

If I had to guess.. I'd say Galicia (or maybe Asturias)
