Great game and first introduction to the Shantae character, series, and universe for most people.

Sorry to disappoint you, but this game is not the first introduction to the cute half-genie that made Wayforward famous.. She starred in the game Shantae on GameBoy Color / GameBoy Advance before she came to the DS with this title ^ u^

Thanks. I love the look of this series. Nothing better than these kinds of adventure games with the "metroidvania" style that have some heart and gameplay to go with it. :D
Some other cool ones on Steam you should all check out are Castle in the Darkness, vladis Story: Abyssal City, Super Panda Adventures, and Freedom Planet that have this style of game. Not to mention the awesome games like Volgar the Viking and Guacamelee. ;)

I agree with you, very much. I've been slowly chipping away at Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition and Volgarr the Viking lately, but I've been interested in Valdis Story: Abyssal City for a long while now, as well as showing interest in Ghost 1.0 recently. The latter came out yesterday, I believe, and also stars a female lead. It looks pretty good with some interesting elements. Check that one out.
