Beware, on steam it say

Notice: Shattered Horizon requires DirectX 10, a DirectX 10 compatible video card, and Windows Vista or Windows 7. There is no support for Windows XP or DirectX 9.

Played it during a free weekend a long time ago. Pretty fun game, but requires a decent gaming rig and Windows Vista or 7.

My notebook runs it pretty good in native res (forgot which it is exactly, i believe 1320x768) and i think medium details.
Maybe check your computer.

Recommended graphics card by the devs is a 512MB GTX260. It's not your gpu that's the problem.

He's just warning, because the requirements (read: not recommended) are for a DX10 rig. It's not really a demand from him. Windows XP does not support DX10. Nor does old graphics cards.
