its mostly the fighting system and a bit of the character choosen that people blamed. They didn't even look at each and everything else that make this game a great game, its pretty much the same story for all franchise out there, there is always purist who think "it should be this way" instead of trying to enjoy this game like its a game of its own

Many pepople didn't like fight system from Crisis Core because is was not turn based but they don't have any complainment for system from FF XV. People can be a big hypocrites
I saw a animated movie called "Final Fantasy - Spirits Within". I have no idea how the other games and movies are like, but of course I know there are fans. What doesn't? 😁 I'll join the GA, but I doubt I'll win. And if I do win, I will probably wonder what the naysayers have to complain about it. 😄
Spirits Within could have been named literally anything... it's so non-Final Fantasy it hurts, but at least it had Chocobos! (Google Chocobos, they're cute as all heck.)
I played it on my X360 shortly after the release. I never understood why some people think this one ruined the franchise. The franchise was in ruins long before XIII and for me, this one was at least a ray of hope. Overall it is a descent JRPG with some major flaws and too big shoes to fill, but I enjoyed it a lot.

FF8 was nice, great graphics (in comparison to 7), cool story, etc. but I didn't like the junction system, upgrading weapons with materials, stealing magic from enemies instead of using MP.
True, it was diferent, the card mini game was good. They try a diferent game play system with every new install of the series, and that can be a very good thing for some people (like me) or a turn down for others. I really enjoyed the XII´s system for example, and some people didnt.
Yup the card game was really cool, I liked it a lot, also the "school" setting was something very cool and had awesome music. I've never played XII, the "newest" FF I've played is X, which I think was very nice with the blitz-ball game, the sphere grid, and the option to swap party members during a battle.

Much faster paced, and is more of a hybrid of turn based to real time. Prior titles were purely turn based.
