Hey, just a heads up about the event - unfortunately it's possible to get all the correct answers from the google form itself just by checking the source code. Not saying that this 'feature' will be widely used to cheat through the puzzle by most players, but still I thought I should let you know about it.

Oh great... Did you know beforehand or decided to check for yourself? I wouldn't have even imagined that this could be the case... And apparently there's no "fix" for it, as I can only see the reports about it from users and no solution aside from "don't use Forms" lol. But if you know if there's a workaround, let me know.

Found out about it few years ago when Covid remote learning started and people started bragging about a way to cheat on google forms exams all over the internet so probably fair amount of people know about this exploit. No idea if any workarounds exists other than using other sites like 2solve, sorry.

2solve doesn't have the same functionality in terms of adding media and whatnot. Welp, my mistake for trusting Google, I guess...

Supposedly there's some way to hide the correct answer from the source code by using an unique key to encrypt it, but I haven't read/looked into this myself and I have no clue if this still works. I'm working atm but I'll try test out this method in few hours and let you know.

Isn't it about Spreadsheets though? Anyway, thanks for the info and for the help. Not sure if I'll keep the puzzle up now...

I like how when you google it everyone's parroting that they patched the loophole and it's not working anymore though lol.

Found a way to at least monitor for cheating entries, sorta. So I guess I could try keeping it up and hope that no students would spot it lol (which is actually pretty likely, given the average age here haha). But I'm waiting for what patch22 has to say about it, since she's sponsoring the main GA... Anyway, wanted to say that feel free to enter any GAs from the puzzle if you want (if we'll keep it running), yours wouldn't count as cheating in any case, despite you knowing the "secret".

Wouldn’t cheat like this myself since it ruins the entire fun of puzzling and invalidates your hard work creating them. Will give solving the puzzles a try when I have some free time but I won’t be entering any of the event GAs since I know about this method. Glad you found some way of monitoring this and I hope you won’t catch many people cheating!
