I liked the concept of this game, so I actually bought it for myself too. Do you have a favorite game with a female protagonist or a favorite female character in general?
Good luck to everyone!

Recently played most of the Blackwell games and enjoyed the female chars in that series. Also fond of Grace in the Gabriel Knight games. In terms of non-playable characters, I liked both Christa and Rebecca in The Walking Dead: human-seeming characters who have their own problems, and take a while to warm up to strangers.

I have a Blackwell game. I want to play that sometime. I sometimes remember games like 'Primal' and think "If only they had come out nowadays". Maybe some of them would have been given more chances, you know? I'm glad the medium is expanding.

Life is Strange is fantastic. I'm anxiously awaiting the last episode to release.

Things got so hectic and stressful that I've left it at the end of Episode 2. I'm itching to get back, but I'll have a busy couple of months still. Gah! Time! I need time!

I really liked the new Lara Croft. We suffer together in that island.

I own the game. I hope to play that one soon too. I should make a gaming schedule and force myself to have fun in-between work.

Jade from Beyond Good & Evil. Zanthia from Legend of Kyrandia 2.

I really like Lara Croft. Heather from Silent Hill 3 was awesome as well. And of course Julie from Heavy Metal F.A.K.K. 2 :D
Thanks!

Multiple female characters from Tales of games (Symphonia/Xillia/Graces etc. - not the Tell Tale games). My favourite were Sheena, Sophie and Presea. Great character design. If you have some consoles, try to look up some Tales of games. If not, wait for Zestiria and Symphonia on Steam and try them.

Beyond Good & Evil, Life is Strange, The Longest Journey (I haven't played Dreamfall yet), Defender's Quest, ... many... :)

The Longest Journey is love. The Longest Journey is life. I absolutely adore that game with every fiber of my being. April is wonderful. I was personally disappointed with Dreamfall. As well as its new protagonist. The magic was gone, somehow. It conformed. I hope Chapters brings the magic back. Will buy it at some point.

Hi,
I have the totally same opinion. I love April, I love her voice, I love her character I love the while game. After I finished it, I was really missing the world and characters. That was something I hadn’t felt before. I was also disappointed with Dreamfall. The game wasn’t bad, Zoey also wasn’t bad, but she hasn’t the charm of April. But mainly I didn’t like what they did with the character of April. But we will see in the Chapters. I haven’t played them yet.
But I can also recommend the Syberia series. The puzzles in the game are sometimes funny and ridiculous, but Kate, the main character is another person, you can truly “fall in love” through the gameplay with.
(sorry for my English, I'm not a native speaker)

Hello! Your English is great. I am not a native speaker either. :)
I have played the Syberia games many times. Love them. Absolutely love them. And Kate! And I love all the characters and her interactions with them. Especially Oscar. Oscar... I actually have an extra copy of the first one from a bundle and wanted to give it away to folks here, but then it was apparently free as a promotion and it's no longer available on the site. I can't wait for Syberia 3. They took their sweet time, but if it's good, I have no complaints. I love Sokal's work.

Contrast's Dawn is an awesome female (co)lead. Some pictures

It's a wishlisted game of mine. I am very excited about the dev's new game, We Happy Few, so I wanted to play this. I'm a sucker for the style (era and noir), so that's what originally drew my attention. I hope to meet Dawn one day. :)

I do like Nilin from Remember Me :)
Well, i like this game too.

Another one I want to play. I read complaints about the mechanics and all, but I'm into games for stories and worlds and characters, so I don't trust reviews much.

You really should get Contrast. I absolutely loved it.

I was so close during its last sale, but then I had to get something else, so I didn't. Christmas is close, so let's see what I can manage. :)

Well, there is a nice ambience in this game.
Honestly, i haven't read any reviews about this game, so i can't say which are the complaints about the mechanics.
Personally, i haven't seen any problem.
During the fights, it is a combo system with moves that you unlock during the playthrough.
There is only one thing that i find it is not enough developed.
It is the memory system.
It is a nice concept but i find that the developpers could have pushed the idea further.
Well, i hope you'll be able to play it, it is a nice game.

It's in my wishlist, waiting for when my pocket can handle it. Ahaha.

Susan from The Cat Lady. She goes through so much in the game and experiences a lot of growth. If I was in her shoes, I'd probably give up pretty quickly. Then again, this is a horror game we're talking about.
Comment has been collapsed.
That was one of the first games I wishlisted. Horror gets way too many bad and/or broken games nowadays, but we also get some really cool stories and many handle some topics that games don't often explore. Thanks for the recommendation!

Does female Shepard from mass effect count? ;p

Femshep counts, of course. ;)

Nicole was pretty badass in Broken Sword 1: The Shadow of the Templars: Director's Cut. Too bad she's been downgraded to love interest / sidekick in the sequels.
I also liked Rosa and Nishanthi Sharma in The Blackwell Legacy and Mona in A Vampyre Story :) "Too heavy!"
Thanks for the thread btw, I should play more games with female protagonists. If you're interested, there are quite a few curator lists with a female/feminist focus:

I want to play the Broken Sword games and I own Blackwell Epiphany, but I had no clue it's a series. I should start from the first ones, but that will probably take time. XD Thanks for the curator lists. I follow Cannot Be Tamed, but I'll take a look at those too.

Thanks for that list, I haven't heard about it before :)
