Momodora? What even is this? Some kind of sound? Some kind of onomatopoeia? What, what? It sounds like some kind of something, I guess... What?
Okay, I get it. I'm not getting any younger these days, but let me say this one thing. When I was a young lad, I used to have so much fun... But nowadays, it's really hard to have fun. Are games fun? Are they really fun? Or are they not and we only think they're fun? That's a question.
Do you have fun these days? How are you, really? Do you like games? Answer me.

I think that if we think they're fun, then they're fun. I don't think that any other metric for whether something is fun or not has any useful meaning.

Makes sense.

I will say, I've noticed different games are different amounts of fun, so all you can really do is try to figure out what the difference is between a game you find fun and a game you don't find fun. If you can figure that out, it should help you make better decisions on what games to play.

Sounds about right.

I get more enjoyment these days out of indie games. I find most AAA games boring. I feel like life in general is not fun and if you can find a good game that draws you in, you can use it to shut out the real world and relax for a little while. Finding the type of games that can do that for you is key and it can sometimes be hard.

Weirdly, I find indie games to be more fun as well.

It's not weird. Indie games usually try and do something different to stand out and gain attention. AAA games spend a lot of money making the game so they want to take the safe route and make something they know will sell to the masses. AAA games usually just rehash the same thing over and over with a slightly different story and that gets boring.
Indie games are often more daring and include topics that may be too risky for a AAA game because the indie dev doesn't have much to lose. AAA games try and stay PC to please everyone and again, that is boring.
Indie games are usually shorter and this is sometimes a good thing. They base the game on whatever content they have and then the game ends. AAA games will pad the game out with boring and repetitive tasks to try and make it last longer so they can have a reason to charge $60. Starting a new game that you know you are going to have to put like 50-100 hours into to complete can feel overwhelming in our busy world. Knowing a game is only a few hours and you will be able to find the time to play and enjoy it makes things much easier.

I agree.

"Momodora!" is what an Italian child shouts at his mother to warn her about the door she's about to walk into. Ok, that was stupid. I am sorry.

Not stupid enough. I love it.

Momo is a peach in japanese
Dora, well might be a name or short for Dragon
Could be an onomatopoeia too
Or Momodora could be the name of the protag

Oh, thank you for that.

I still enjoy playing games. For me, they are fun, today maybe more than when I was younger. I can appreciate so much about them ^,^ The music, visuals, story, sometimes even the stupid mistakes and glitches. So yes, I like games, I love them. But well... ever since I started gaming, games were, just like books, kind of a safe place for me, worlds where I could hide when the relity was too cruel. Even today, I still find comfort in gaming, when I'm not happy, so this might affect my opinion about them ^^

It's good to have some kind of place that's safe.

I like them. The only thing that changed is how I have fun with games.
I used to enjoy singleplayer a lot, and co-op. Now I really enjoy competing.
Perhaps that's part of why some people lose interest in games is their tastes change but they haven't found what they want out of gaming now? Just a theory based off my own situation. Games are a lot different now than they were before after all.

People change. So does thei taste.

Cannibals would agree.
Haha. Sorry. Had to make the joke. XD
But yes. They do. Change is apart of life.

Being challenged and then overcoming the challenge is fun. Video games are a very artificial challenge but that doesn't make them less fun :)

Sure.

I tend to mostly play story-rich games these days, yeah, action gets less fun with age :(
