Game Spotlight!

Paradise Killer
An open world, murder-mystery game with the "text-heaviness" of a visual novel, lots of fun hidden items to find, and you'll get to enjoy it all in glorious first-person view :) Personally, I think the mystery aspect of the game is really well-done - interrogate suspects, look for clues, hack Nightmare computers to get crucial data, etc - and the game does a great job guiding the player through the game, compiling detailed records on Starlight (a special-kind of laptop) that I can easily refer to whenever I get stuck. The plot here, which seemed convoluted at first, came together really well once you can get into the council chamber, and suddenly everything made sense. I also like running around the huge island-city, looking for Blood Crystals and other relics to collect, but the most striking thing of all, to me at least, is the weird retro-like/religious theme and the chill vaporwave music. The world-building is pretty incredible here too, and understanding how things work in this pocket of dimensional space and the goal of the Syndicate is an important part of unraveling the motives of the criminals and solving the crime, but I can't say I'm not a bit disappointed that I wasn't able to enter certain areas like the Deep Factory (just the warehouse and the corridor that passes through it).

If you're interested, here's my complete playthrough.

Games like Paradise Killer - Methods: The Detective Competition, Phoenix Wright, Danganronpa, LA Noire

Since I keep notes now I can give a reason. I ended up blacklisting you because of this incident in pa. Since I witnessed the whole thing go down I couldnt ignore it. I don't normally care for drama in groups but pa is one I do keep an eye on and I just happened to see everything at that time.

Thanks for the highlight of the game, I'd seen it awhile back and forgot about it subsequently, but it's definitely interesting for ppl who liked danganronpa etc...

Yeah, it's real eye-opening for me so I thought more people would like to know about it :)

I have a certain amount of hype for that game (it's on my Nintendo Switch wishlist). It definitely seems like Danganronpa but... good. And the fact that the crime and killer are "randomized" somewhat may bring something new to the table

Honestly, I'm not sure if the crime and the killer are randomized here in this game. It doesn't seem that way, at least from my single playthrough, but yeah, if you could get it at an affordable price, it's definitely worth buying :)
