It is a Humble Bundle key. Unfortunately they sometimes give keys with region restrictions in their bundles and don't even warn people.
Hopefully it won't be.
Are you sure they don't warn? The last time I gifted a key from HB it said which regions can activate it.
Did you reveal the key or used the "gift to a friend" option?

I will try gift to a friend option next time but someone told me even that can be incorrect sometimes.
