This is Steamgifts. Only a couple of non-steam games are allowed to be posted (Battlefield 3, Minecraft..), and non-steam versions of games on the list are not allowed (e.g. - need for speed keys that would activate on origin. Only steam copies are allowed here). There is no steam activated cd key, retail or anywhere, for Street Fighter x Tekken. I'd be very, very happy to be wrong about this, but it's currently the case.

In contest rules, where I won the key, was said "Steam key". I don't know how to check this info without key activation. And I hope, it is region free.

Capcom uses GFWL for many of their PC titles (usually the lazy ports). As a rule of thumb, GFWL keys are not valid on Steam.

I'm afraid that you were lied to. This sort of thing makes me wish you could just check keys with Steam and not automatically attempt to activate them.

I am not afraid of losing my virtual currency. I hardly ever dip below 250 points anyway, as I don't enter that many. I am more concerned about people following the rules and other people not losing their points.
