There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of story in this game, so I wouldn't classify it as a VN. It's mostly about cooking (match 3). There is some minor platforming and fighting monsters with relatively simple battle system to gather their ingredients.
Those who don't enjoy match 3 are probably not going to enjoy this game. I personally like match 3, but I don't find the system this game uses very enjoyable.
There isn't really much of it, you jump up and down between the platforms. I'm only in second (out of six) chapter but this doesn't seem like the kind of game that requires any kind of platforming skills. So far there haven't been any hard to reach areas.
Combat is also pretty simple. You can jump, attack with knife, use whirlwind magic attack, throw knives and teleport-attack. There are upgrades you can buy for those to improve them slightly but that's it.
Cooking via match 3 is the part of the game that requires the most skill and thinking, far more than anything else.
