Oh yes they do, esspecialy if its a track you recognize, know, remember, from when you were younger, mmhm, just take something good and make it even better, so good this proccess, and then you have the fun of finding the best covers amongst the large selection. Add their own twist? Right, albeit some dont even do it, some simply remaster the soundtracks, same thing but nicer hopefully. One of your favourites huh? Ah.... yes, it was a little nice i suppose, very soft metal.
I think for me this is the perfect case of what you're describing. The taste of nostalgia hidden in between a new and unique variation. Very satisfying to listen to. Unlocks memories of the past, but also inspires for the future.
Perfect case? Oh. Hidden between new and unique you say, hm, yes, possibly. Oh yes, satisfying indeed. Unlocks memories? Maybe on some occasions but probably have to unlock yourself by trying hard enough. Inspires for the future? I guess maybe you could say that, especialy when nothing like that is being done in said future.
