Half Genie Hero was my first Shantae game (having avoided the other 2) and it exceeded my expectations. I wrote a review here: http://steamcommunity.com/id/carlmundo/recommended/253840/

After completing it, I played the other 2 games and enjoyed them too :)

Well, it's both hard to tell why and at the same time very very simple.
All Shantae games are just awesome in pretty much everything. Music, gameplay, art, humor... you name it.

For me:
Presentation style, fun recurring characters and interesting gimmicks (including well-designed boss-fights)
1/2 genie hero was a bit lacking in exploration though .

Shantae first PC platformer with good controls from keyboard for me :D
Another games I tested had problems if you don't use controller. And I hate controllers.
And sorry for late comment, not checked description first time maybe... I don't remember this desc when I join the giveaway %)

i have played a little this series so far but somehow it reminds me oldschool fun i had with games like this
