November is Prematurity awareness month. This giveaway is in honour of my daughter Nova who was born too early.
She was born at 29 weeks gestation weighing just 1lb12 (800g) and spent 69 days in the NICU.
You can read more about her birth and hospital stay here here: http://www.shanneva.com/small-but-mighty/
I would also love to raise awareness of a rare epileptic syndrome she has called West Syndrome. It affects just 1 in 3000 children each year in the UK and is very often misdiagnosed even though early detection is key to a good outcome. With awareness, more families can help get the diagnosis they need.
You can read more about it here: http://www.shanneva.com/rare-syndrome/

How is your daughter today?
Healthy I hope.

Shes a lot better than she was :) I wont lie, she is about 9 months behind developmentally. But her personality is a lot happier and we've seen no more seizures since she started treatment. She is also a whopping 16lbs now, so much bigger than she was at birth :)
The doctors seem hopeful that she will go onto be a normal, happy, healthy little girl :)
