I think Finding Nemo belongs in all categories. I'll be back tomorrow with more suggestions.

It's a very good movie indeed! :)
When I saw the word nature, the first film that came to my mind was Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter... and Spring. But it's not for everyone.

That seems really interesting with a very cool idea :)

Out of these, I've actually only seen Groundhog Day and The Help, I really loved that one along with Hidden Figures :)

I've added these to my list:
Akeelah and the Bee
Die Welle
Jagten
Miracle in Cell No. 7
The Game
The Iron Giant
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
The Shawshank Redemption

That was so sweet of you, thank you so much for taking your time out to find these and link them! :D

I noticed you really seem to love the Crime genre, I don't know if you watch many tv shows but The X-Files, How To Get Away With Murder, Breaking Bad, and The Sinner are really amazing! Maybe you might like Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency too!

Brother Bear and The Book Thief are probably my favourite movies, as well as Harry Potter and Studio Ghibli :)

I had to find some time to prepare them. Maybe I should write the years next to them, because they might all be before 2018 and you wanted to see something more recent...

I wanted to see Hidden Figures and The Book Thief, but it didn't happen. Were on my watch list.
From 2018 onwards, I mostly watch series. Of the ones you mentioned, I've only seen the best, the one with Badger. Mostly I prefer European series (most are crime series) or series where I find their script interesting. The last one I really REALLY liked was Severance. Please tell me, is this not interesting to you?

Mark leads a team of office workers whose memories have been surgically divided between their work and personal lives. When a mysterious colleague appears outside of work, it begins a journey to discover the truth about their jobs.

Extremely recommended!

And if you want my favorite movie of all. Not the most technically correct or with the most awards. It's one I rarely mention, as if I want to keep it to myself... Castaway on the Moon. :)

I don't mind watching older movies and shows if they're special to me, but I usually find myself watching the newer ones! It's hard when you're so used to the better technology 🙊 Same with retro video games, I don't have that feeling of nostalgia someone older may have!

Severance looks super unique, I'm definitely going to watch that! I love that actor in Parks and Recreation! The story in this one sounds like such a scary idea! I love shows or movies that create a new way to look at something in society we struggle with or fear is happening!

Castaway on the Moon looks very special, I've added it to my list to watch too! Thank you so much for sharing :)

The basic idea of Severance most likely comes from the ancient Greek philosophers. If you like philosophy, you will like the series.
And yes, its script is like no other. I'm sure you'll like it. Or rather, I don't know how anyone couldn't like it.

Direction, script, performances all at a very high level, and I felt the need to thank the creator in an AMA on reddit. :)

I love philosophy! Have you seen The Good Place? Adam Scott's also in that one! It's amazingly funny and covers meaningful subjects too :)

Of what you have mentioned, I had heard of all but Brother Bear and Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency.
The Good Place... I don't think I would ever watch something with that title. If it was Dystopia, I'd be one of the first to see it. Unfortunately I had and still have many reasons to reject something and some of them are completely unfair. 🙃
However, I put it on my watchlist, in case I want to see any comedy. 😊

Hmm I would say it's like a dystopian... there's something about "The Good Place" that's not quite as it seems! It's very psychological and interesting, but I wouldn't say it's a dark dystopian, it's pretty lighthearted and silly!

Oh no, I didn't mean it that way. If I had to choose to watch a series between 2, where one is titled The Good Place and the other is titled Dystopia, I would choose to watch the second one.

In comedies, if they have canned laughs, I reject them, unless they have a main character named Al Bundy.
Of the more well-known comedies, I've only seen some episodes of Friends. If that didn't have the laughs behind it... We don't have the same sense of humor! I remember seeing the first Pirates of the Caribbean in a packed cinema. At one point there was a scene that I thought was very clever and extremely funny and I started laughing out loud... I was the only one who laughed... 🙃
Some of the comedies I watched: The Last Man on Earth, Space Force, but I'm not sure if I recommend them.

I want at some point, to find some unknown British comedy, because I love their humor. :)

Ohh I see! I love Friends, Phoebe is my favourite! I've also seen Space Force and really enjoyed it :) Ed O'Neill's in Modern Family, another really amazing comedy! Not sure about more British comedies, Derry Girls might count, though it's more Irish! I would also say Doctor Who is pretty funny :D

I also added Derry Girls to my list. 😊
In this list I have The Black Adder quite high. Not exactly what I'm looking for, but I'd like to see it sometime. :)

That's great, I hope you enjoy it if you watch :D They're hilarious and a bit nuts lol! I think Irish people are really funny! Someone here recommended that to me too, but I saw some clips and wasn't sure, the humour is a bit strange for me 🙊

My favorite animated film of all time is INNOCENCE by Mamoru Oshii, technically a sequel to his previous film GHOST IN THE SHELL (1995), based on the manga by Masamune Shirow. You could try to watch both if you're interested, but, I think INNOCENCE can also be enjoyed on its own.

My favorite animated series of all time is Gunbuster by Hideaki Anno. His debut 6 episode series, many consider it the prototype for Neon Genesis Evangelion, but I still prefer it, over the latter.

Both are sci-fi, but have in my opinion, really meaningful messages about being alive, hope and the soul. Hope you find the time to watch them!

Those look really interesting! I would definitely watch both as I don't like to miss out on any of the story! Gunbuster and Neon Genesis Evangelion also look cool! Thank you so much :)

Neon Genesis Evangelion is a can of worms to watch, but, if you end up liking Gunbuster, you could also give it a try.

The first is the 26 episode series from 1996, be warned, the final two episodes are pretty different from the rest of the series, supposedly they had time constrains that made them drop episode 25 and extend episode 26 into the episodes 25 and 26, those had some backlash, so, they latter released Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death & Rebirth (1997) a movie that consist of a re-cap of the anime until chapter 23 (changing a lot of things from chapter 21 onwards) as well as the second film The End of Evangelion (1997), that is basically a new episode 25 and 26.

And that's basically all NGE... Except, they then released a tetralogy of films, that work as an alternative re-telling, they are their own thing, but, also reference some of the events and endings of the previous Evangelion , I actually have yet to watch the final two films:

  • Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone. (2007)
  • Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance. (2009)
  • Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo. (2012)
  • Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time. (2021)

And, that's all of Evangelion... So far.

Thank you so much for all the info and help! I saw that people were not happy with the ending, I'm glad they worked to fix that and create a better storyline for it :) It really sucks when a show ends badly 🙀
