Nearby is the Wilhelminapier; in the past this is where many ships to America departed from. These days it's almost completely filled with highrises. Fortunately the Hotel New York building is still there. It was built in 1917 and used to be the headquarters of the Holland America Line.

I used to play a lot of Dungeons & Dragons and other RPG's near this station.
