Description

Instead of the canned responses, tell me what your favorite LOCAL coop game is.? genre/price not important. My kids and I enjoy playing 2 or 3 player local coops (split screen, etc.. NOT LAN.). Winner, please make sure to mark received. Good luck!

Thank you! I haven't played any local co-op games. I was going to suggest Terraria, but it seems like it doesn't support local co-op :(

Uff... haven't played split screen in ages... Last thing I played and that has same-machine co-op is Rain Blood Chronicles: Mirage, and I enjoyed the game.

the most recent local coop game I played was LEGO LotR, was pretty fun and I had a good time with my gf.
Battleblock Theater has local coop too (but I have to say I just used the online functionality)
With friends I played Resistance 3 on PS3 and we had a blast, but depending on the age of your children that might not be the most suitable game :D
Little Big Planet is nice and pretty much without an age restriction - and it has up to 4 player local coop

For PC again:I can safely recommend Monaco, Magicka and the Trine games. Very fun to play with people together.

Castle Crashers, Battleblock Theater, Awesomenauts, and Broforce. Then a number of sidescroller brawlers, fighting games, and shooters have local co-op.

My girl an I played Resident Evil 6 in couch coop but you better have a huge screen as the splitting of the screens wasn't well made...

None of my real life friends are gamers, unfortunately, so I don't have anyone to play local COOP with. But if I had, I think my favourite local COOP game would be Dead Pixels :)

I didn't play Prince Caspian but the first Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe was a nice co-op (you'd better use controllers though).

Agreed on Lego games being solid for the most part. Other good cooperative games (maybe not for kids on some): Arkham Horror/Eldritch Horror, Robinson Crusoe - Adventure on the Cursed Island, Dead of Winter, Descent - Journeys in the dark, Fury of Dracula, etc.

My favorite with my daughter at the moment is Child of Light which while it isn't local co-op in the sense of many games, does have cooperative play with the main character and the firefly in the world and during battles.

Puppeteer is local Coop. So is Adventure Time Explore the Dungeon Because IDK. Both of those are pretty kid friendly I think. And every Lego game ever.

I don't know how old your kids are, but I'm pretty sure that Dungeon Siege 3 is Coop. So is Lord of the Rings War in the North.
