I want to join in on the random facts! (Thanks to Thexder for inspiring me!) :-D

Did you know DEF CON, one of the largest hacker conventions in the world, was started in 1993, and was supposed to be a farewell party for one of Jeff Moss' friends? But his friend left early, and with the entire party planned, he decided to invite all of his hacker friends to come to Las Vegas with him to party, which resulted in about 100 attendees.
