Sorry but I don't really know any metal band, the only metal I listen is probably just MGRising's OST. So all I can do is to say thanks ;)

Sabaton, and you even get to learn about history listening to them.

Tool is my favorite. I like some In Flames albums too. Other than that, I'm not really into metal anymore.

Some less known but quality bands - depending on your tastes ofc : Overkill (power/thrash, expecially their 80s/90s stuff), My Dying Bride (doom/gothic of astounding quality), Cancer (obscure but excellent english death metal band from the early '90s), Anathema (starting from heaviest doom evolving into alternative rock, except for the first couple of albums it's all top notch quality) , Nevermore (mostly thrash, Warrel Dane's singing is superb). Just a few random names from over 20 years of listening to metal :).

To name few my favorites: Bolt Thrower, Blind Guardian, Falconer, Machinae Supremacy, Arch Enemy, Turisas and Finntroll to name few :)

Machinae Supremacy combines metal and chiptunes. Good for something different if you're into that kind of thing.
