This is a low-budget 2016 JRPG that draws heavily on the genre classics. With a Mixed reception on Steam for its bugginess and lack of polish, it's unlikely to stick with you like a Chrono Trigger or a Suikoden II would. Still, for my fellow JRPG enthusiasts, it might be worth trying out for free, right? Good luck!

Suikoden was a great franchise! Recruiting 108 stars was half the game.

Suikoden IV was a misstep, but I think it might be my favorite franchise, overall. Definitely the one I would like to see a new (proper) game in the most. :( If you haven't tried the free RPG Maker game Exit Fate, I can warmly recommend it. It's basically a fan-made Suikoden game, albeit with only half the stars to recruit.

I agree. Sadly there hasn't been a good one since. Tactics was just ok. I'll check out the game and thanks for GA!

I remember liking Tactics more than IV; if nothing else, I appreciated the two games working together to flesh out the Suikoden universe I was so crazy about. Exit Fate has its shorcomings--it -feels- like an RPG Maker game; the music is a highly unlicensed grab bag of JRPG classics from the 90s; it could do with more than one facial expression for most characters--but I honestly think it stands up as an intriguing, honorary member of the Suikoden series. It even has (bad) army battles!
For sure! I'll join in a minute. :)

I liked tactics more than IV as well, but II and III were my favorites.
