I am concerned with DLCs which add extra map styles, heroes and faction. Autumn map setting alone looks so magnificent that I don't want to play with it being 'locked'. It is just beautiful. Buying DLCs at full price now is a bit expensive and makes little sense - they will cost more than base game. I should wait either until heavy discounts for them or for complete set itself.

I used to have the same problem with EU4. I was always postponning playing it because there were always dlcs I didn't have. Until I came to the conclusion that I was just missing out on an already great game. Good DLC will always improve the game, but if it's good enough without it, what's the harm in trying it that way, right? xD

Looks like a lovely game - and I'm a big fan of turn-based strategies and boardgames, plus the cute creatures might encourage my partner to join in playing, so I think this would be right up my alley. Thanks for the GA!

It's sort-of a mixed bag. It's definitely has the fairy tale looks down, but the gameplay is fairly shallow and based heavily on dice rolling.
(And I don't mean that in the sense of 'FTL: bad things can happen'. You're literally just rolling dice with minimal control over the outcome.)
It plays like a board game, in other words. Which to be fair is how it's advertised. If I was having a casual lan party or something, it would probably be fun to play for a bit with friends, but on it's own the game doesn't really offer that much.
