Now, here we have a flat knitting chart for a 1x1 ribbing, but it's a mess! There are a lot of mistakes.
We have to ask ourself: what are we looking for? It's not on istoohard and there are no references to any external site, so probably there is a Steamgift or SGtools link hidden somewhere (but I also wrote that the GAs were open to all, so we could exclude the SGtools).
let's analyze the data we have:
Since i said there are mistakes, the next logical step is looking for them, so we have to find out how the chart is supposed to look like. There are three ways:
Now we have all our little mistakes... 5 lines with 8 mistakes each... can you see where i am going? If not, look at the chart. We have 2 stitches, knit [ ] and purl •, a symbol and an empty space... yes, we are speaking binary!
Let's translate it, shall we? Logically, we could hypothesize that the empty squares are 0s and the • are 1s, and we would be correct!. If for any reason you assumed the contrary (like for example if you corrected the chart before converting the symbols to numbers), your result made no sense, and i'm sure you tried the right way after converting it to text.
It's almost over! We just have to convert the binary to text and... here we have our five letters/numbers!

FUN(?) FACTS (it could have been worse!)

Ah, thanks for the solution. I got up to step 5. Noticed the 5 lines each having 8 mistakes, but had no clue what to do with it.

thank you for solution and reply. i came to the last steps but results didn't make any sense.

Ah, I was focused on each line (as a whole) as a complete mistake (the five lines in question) as opposed to focusing on only the squares that were mistakes within those lines.

Great puzzle! I was missing the "flat knitting chart" part and because of that I went with a completely different approach of assigning zeroes and ones to alternating groups (image below). Still, the first symbol didn't make sense... The "code" I got was [ezqY
