I don't know, slightly disappointed. People like to believe stuff that fits their narrative. I have a feeling that no one was actually convinced and the only people that flocked to the thread had their mind set in one way or another before even opening it.
The story of our times, I think :P But it's a good excercise in thinking and disputing. Some people really challenged me in my way of thinking and it was fun to challenge them in theirs.

I didn't want to comment on your thread 'cause everytime Epic is mentioned here the discussion somehow turns into huge flames, but I think the whole localconfig.vdf / spyware thing was overblown.
I hope Epic's aggressive marketing will push Valve to improve Steam even more, they've been resting on their laurels recently and sales are not good as they used to be...
Yeah, that's understandable, it did turn a bit messy. I do share your hopes, I think Steam lacked any serious motivation to improve over the past few years, we'll see how it goes :P
