Cosmology. Specifically, cosmological inflation and string theory. That's because those two theories suggest that maybe our universe is just one out of many, perhaps countless universes. This hypothesis is often called the "multiverse".
However, I think it's important to mention that the cosmological multiverse is NOT like the pop culture multiverse, where there are countless different versions of you and me. That's based on a mostly discredited idea, the many worlds interpretation. Instead, many cosmologists believe other universes (if they exist) are mostly lifeless. Kind of like our own universe, where the majority of it is very cold and lifeless, some of it is too hot for life to exist, and only a very small fraction of it is known to be able to support life.
