This was such a good game, loved it (not as much as the first though). Would like to play it again but I'm worried about the technical issues people are talking about in reviews. It seems like it wont work on modern OS and hardware unless you mess around with files and what not.
I've been thinking about passing on the giveaway and letting someone who haven't played it win it. But in that case it'll probably be won by someone who's never going to play it and will just let it collect dust in his library. So I might enter after all, but I'll have to do some research about how to fix those technical issues first.
I think you only need a simple fanpatch to rewrite the executable, and that's about it. Although I'm not sure about the DirectX version it uses; if it is DX6 or earlier, Win10 will most likely not run it.
I've got Win7. Can't stand W10's interface and all that spyware crap is turning me off too, even though people say you can turn it off. MS wouldn't make it free AND try to almost force people into upgrading if they weren't up to something.
